Chemo Hats!

One of my most popular items for Chemotherapy patients is my sun hat. They are made of 100% cotton, and have no seams to irritate the skin. The wide brim helps to shade the face and neck from the sun, and hides hair loss.  I like to fold the brim up in the front or slant it to the side for fun. The flower is removable and could be replaced with a pretty decorative flower or brooch.  I can make them in so many different colors, including red!

Ewenique Essentials Blog Feature

O.K.  I confess that I am terrible at blogging. Being a homeschooling, soccer, archery, non-mini-van- driving mom, blogging seems to be last on my to-do list. But my dear friend Debbie Lamb at Ewenique Essentials really does a great job of it.  She makes the best smelling soaps (the unscented goats milk and vanilla coffee ones are some of my favorites).  She also knits dishcloths in the prettiest colors, hand warmers out of fine yarns, cowls and scarves, AND teaches in a homeschool co-op.

With all of this she has taught herself how to make her own website, make Etsy Treasuries, and has learned how to take beautiful digital pictures. Maybe one day I will get there, but for now, take a look at her website. She has featured my Brown sun hat that is especially popular with chemo patients:

Silk Scarves

Nathan and I have had a great time learning to dye silk scarves. I must say, he does a better job than I do. When I wasn't looking he used almost the whole bottle of gold dye. It turned out to be beautiful, and was the first one that I sold at the Riverside Arts Market. The third one I call my "Poppy" scarf.

Lots of goodies from New York City

Oh, boy. Look at what I found in New York City. Lots of sumptuous velvet ribbons, buckles, brooches. I could have shopped forever!

And a Boys hat too....

New Girls Hat

My new favorite. Such pretty colors. Now available on my Etsy site www.modstitches.etsy.com

Oh boy, a blog!

Finally, my own blog! Thanks to Jen at http://mybigfatgrainfreelife.blogspot.com, who's been teaching me the ropes. I will be adding all kinds of things, including crochet and knit hat patterns. But I have to figure all this out first. So stay with me!

In the mean time, check out my Etsy shop: www.modstitches.etsy.com. It has lots of Vintage style hats, modern hats, chemo hats, Nuno felted scarfs, flower pins and head bands.
